How to scan receipts
To scan a receipt, choose scan, take a photo or pick a screenshot, then check the details Savvyra fills in and save. It usually takes a few seconds.
Scan step by step
- On the home screen, choose Scan.
- Take a photo of the receipt, or choose an image from your library. You can add up to 5 images in one go.
- Savvyra reads the merchant, total, date, currency, tax and tip, and suggests a category.
- Review the result. Change anything that looks wrong, then save.
If an expense with the same amount on the same day already exists, Savvyra points it out so you do not record it twice.
Tips for accurate results
- Lay the receipt flat and capture the whole thing, including the total.
- Use good light and avoid shadows and glare.
- Keep it sharp. Hold still for a moment before taking the photo.
- One receipt per photo. Scan several receipts as separate images.
What happens to the image
The receipt image is stored privately with the expense, so you can look at it later. It is sent to our AI provider only to read it. See the privacy policy for details.
When recognition fails
If the image is unreadable or the AI service is temporarily unavailable, Savvyra tells you and does not count the scan. Try again with a clearer photo, or switch to manual entry with one tap.
Questions
How many receipts can I scan for free?
The free plan includes 15 receipt scans per month. Savvyra Pro includes 2,000 per month.
Does a failed scan count toward my limit?
No. A scan only counts when Savvyra returns a result. If recognition fails, you can try again or enter the expense manually.
Can I scan an online order confirmation?
Yes. Take a screenshot of the order or email and choose it from your photo library.
